Abbey Charitable Trust

The Abbey Charitable Trust has awarded a grant of £20,000 to the e-Learning Foundation to support a major e-learning project targetting disadvantaged learners at the Argyle Primary School in the London Borough of Camden.

This project will provide children with one to one access to a computer and an internet connection at home.   They will be able to use the equipment to search the internet, communicate with their schools via the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and write up their school projects at home and email their work to their teachers.   Parents will also be able to monitor and track their child's performance at school, and support their learning as well.  The school will use the e-learning project to monitor pupils progress throughout the school year, and we hope that the project will lead to a drammatic improvement in pupil attainment at school, including a shift in their grades and overall engagement with learning.

Argyle Primary School will be using the Abbey Charitable Trust funding to run a three year project across the school supporting hundreds of pupils to get connected to the digital age, soemthing that we all take for granted.

We are very grateful to the Abbey Charitable Trust for their support for this school, and look forward to the successful role-out of this project in 2010.
