Affiliation benefits for Schools
Expert advice and support
Your School Liaison Manager will keep you informed about developments in the Home Access programme, additional grants from the e-Learning Foundation, solutions for Internet access at home, etc. They will help you present your case to your parents, persuade your Board of Governors and help you write a persuasive grant application.
Grants
In 2010, families eligible for Free School Meals at Key Stages 2 and 3, are entitled to a Home Access grant from the Government. However, that will still leave many low income working families struggling to provide a computer and the Internet for their children’s learning at home. e-Learning Foundation grants help schools provide an affordable offer to these families, ensuring that we achieve universal access.
Use of special logo
Affiliation carries the right to use the e-Learning Affiliated School logo on school stationery, and will be sent to you on receipt of your affiliation fee.
Fundraising helpline
Our Fundraising Director will help you develop local fundraising opportunities.
Donation Management Service
The Donation Management Service takes away the administration burden of collecting regular parental donations for schools. In most cases the school pays nothing for the service, as the e-Learning Foundation uses the Gift Aid it can claim from the Inland Revenue to cover the costs. The current service can collect donations by direct debit, credit and debit cards. Cash donations will be handled in the near future. A new web portal gives ready access to the information you need on your current and lapsed donors.
Special e-Learning Foundation conference rates
Affiliated schools benefit from two discounted places at each event.
Publicity for your school
Schools that address the challenge of the digital divide should be recognised for their achievements. Our PR team will ensure you are recognised for your work through case studies, nomination for awards and inclusion in media articles.
Broadband deals for home use
Schools who would like to help families who are not eligible for the Government Home Access grant go online at home, can benefit from a special price for a pre-paid, unlimited use 3G dongle costing the equivalent of just over £10 a month for an annual contract that we have negotiated with T-Mobile.
Digital Links to Africa
Through our partnership with Digital Links your unwanted computers can be refurbished and sent to schools in Africa. And your school can then create links with a school in Africa.
Affiliation Offers
Over the year we plan to bring offers from organisations who, through their contributions to the e-Learning Foundation, are recognised as Corporate Supporters. Currently we have the following exclusive Affiliation offers available. Full details of these offers will be found in the Affiliated Zone of our site.
T-Mobile
One year of unlimited use Mobile Broadband for £10.64 a month including the dongle!
Schools wishing to ensure that all their families can go on line as part of their universal access programme, can now buy the T-Mobile “Mobile BroadBand in a Box” (MBB) for just £127.65 + VAT.
T-Mobile has also agreed to donate £5 to the eLearning Foundation for every MBB sold, which will help fund our advisory and grant services.
CompuCover
CompuCover has supported the e-Learning Foundation for many years and is a major provider of laptop insurance for schools. Insurance is often regarded as a “hidden cost” of e-learning programmes so anything we can do to keep this cost down helps keep the programmes affordable.

- 1 Year Policy: 4.25%
