Welcome to the autumn e-Learning Foundation newsletter

The next few weeks offer a short window in which schools can inform eligible parents about the Home Access grants they will be able to benefit from in the New Year.  They must be told before Christmas to avoid spending money they can’t afford on a computer they don’t need to buy! Schools are uniquely placed to make sure this happens   ...exactly  how will be made clear next week.


87 Schools Awarded Grants In Latest Grant Round
The e-Learning Foundation’s latest grant round has resulted in 87 schools being awarded a total of £836,000 in grants. The projects will benefit over 12,000 pupils and involve a total of £3.67 million investment in personal and home access to ICT. Follow the link for the full story...


Aggregation of Home Access grants – where does this fit into my equity scheme?
Most schools will be able to aggregate Home Access grants on behalf of their parents and run an equity scheme for all the other pupils... 


Parents Impressed With Home Access Programme at St Peter’s CE Primary, Telford
90% of parents said they were ‘impressed’ with a home access programme introduced by St Peter’s Church of England Controlled Primary School, Bratton, Telford - which in under a year has got all Key Stage 2 pupils on board... 


e-Learning School Scoops Awards at Handheld Learning Awards 2009
Normanby Primary School in Cleveland, which runs a home access project supported by the e-Learning Foundation has scooped two awards at the Handheld Learning Awards 2009 held in London. The school’s "PDA’s to support learning initiative" took the Innovation Award in the primary schools category and Carl Faulkner, Head Teacher took the Practitioner of the Year Award"...

e-Learning Foundation Home Access Awards 2009 -shortlist released
The e-Learning Foundation has announced the shortlist for its inaugural Home Access Awards 2009, designed to spotlight the ‘best in class’ e-learning projects around the country. The awards will be presented at One Great George Street, Westminster, Central London, following the e-Learning Foundation’s ‘Engaging with Home Access’ conference on Friday 20 November 2009... 


Individual Support Grants Available To Affiliated Schools
Individual Support Grants are available to schools affiliated to the e-Learning Foundation for pupils from low income families whose educational opportunities are being limited by their lack of home access and who do not fall under the Home Access programme...
