Dixons Store Group

2008-2009 was the third and final year of the highly successful ‘Switched on Communities’ programme. The e-Learning Foundation received a total of £450,000 from DSGi which was spread over three years. The funding was used to part-fund our support and advice service and provide grants to 43 schools running e-learning projects in England and Wales, helping 2,618 disadvantaged children with home access to IT and the Internet.

This partnership was a great success and the e-Learning Foundation is very grateful to DSGi for the support it has provided over the last three years. Although this particular project has come to an end we are continuing to work with DSGi on other fundraising initiatives.

In-store promotion
As part of their involvement with the e-Learning Foundation the DSGi group will be supporting an in-store promotion of collectable guitar badges and charms which will be available at pay-points throughout their 700+ Currys, PC World and Dixons Travel stores across the UK from December 2009 and right through 2010.

Niall O’Keeffe, UK Director of Marketing said: “We are very pleased to be able to support the e-Learning Foundation, as we aim to work with organisations which improve access to technology in parts of the community where access is currently limited. Technology is vital to children and young people, helping them with their education and to maintain access to their friends, so the e-Learning Foundation meet these criteria fully”.
