"Motorola is very proud to be supporting the e-Learning Foundation. This organisation works tirelessly to make sure that the 1.6 million school children in the UK who do not currently have access to a computer at home get the support they need in our increasingly digital world. Education, particularly in science, maths and technology is something which Motorola employees are extremely passionate about and we feel that we can contribute not just by fundraising but also by giving our time and expertise."

Graeme Hobbs, Motorola UK Country Manager

The e-Learning Foundation is delighted to have been chosen by Motorola UK as its new chosen charity for the next three years.

Motorola is know around the world for innovation in communication and is focused on advancing the way the world connects.   From broadband communications infrastructure, enterprise mobility and public safety solutions to high-definition video and mobile devices, Motorola is leading the next wave of innovations that enable people, enterprises and governments to be more connected and more mobile.  Motorola had sales of US $30.1 billion in 2008.

The Motorola Foundation is the charitable and philanthropic arm of Motorola.   With employees around the globe, Motorola seeks to benefit the communities where it operates and the company achieves this by making strategic grants, forging strong community partnerships, fostering innovation and engaging stakeholders.   The Motorola Foundation focuses its funding on education, especially science, technology, engineering and math programming.

In addition to supporting the e-Learning Foundation through the global Motorola Foundation, Motorola employees will also be supporting the Foundation through local fundraising initiatives connected to e-learning schools near to the company offices in the UK (Basingstoke, Swindon, Ashburton and Chineham).   Motorola staff will be providing professional advice and support on e-safety and software to school IT departments, information on home learning, as well as Motorola solutions to help meet the schools IT and telecommunication needs.
