Parents fear social networking sites are affecting their children's school grades
NEARLY half of parents think their children would do better in school if they were not distracted by fun websites.
And one-in-five think using social networking and other non-educational sites is affecting their youngsters’ grades “considerably”.
But despite their concerns, just over half of parents admitted they did not know exactly what their children were doing online.
Research by YouGov showed a quarter of children aged six to 11 spend an hour a day on social networking such as Facebook and Twitter. But only one-in-10 uses the internet daily for homework.
