About Us

Special relationships

The e-Learning Foundation approach is based on extensive collaboration with organisations that share our objectives and concerns.

We do not believe in re-inventing the wheel, and welcome approaches from organisations that can provide support to schools and families in ways that are complementary to the services we provide.

If you fall into this category, and have not been in touch with us, please send us an e-mail info@e-learningfoundation.com outlining the aims and activities of your organisation, and your ideas on how we might be able to collaborate.

These are the Organisations that we are currently collaberating with:

 There is a wealth of resources on safe use of the Internet and mobiles available from Childnet International for schools to use, many of which are available free of charge, downloadable and in several languages. A good example is Know IT All which is an educational resource pack for secondary schools.

CC4G are out of school hours girls-only ICT clubs that engage girls (10-14 year olds) by using their interests (e.g. music, fashion, dance mixing and interviewing celebrities).

Participation in such a club could form an important element of a wider e-learning strategy in a school, and could have the additional benefit of providing a tangible reason for parents to support the school’s e-Learning Foundation appeal.

If you are interested in running CC4G, please register your interest on their site.

Digital Links is a social enterprise that provides IT equipment and solutions for education, small businesses and health units in the world’s poorest areas. By bringing the best technology available to disadvantaged communities at an affordable cost they can provide incredible opportunities for improved health, education, and economic growth.

Through their partnerships with corporations, governments, schools and many other organisations they are able to recycle technology and place over 65,000 computers to schools, hospitals and NGOs across Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe.

If your school would like to partner with them and recycle your old technology or your school would like to see real examples of the help it will bring then please contact them.

 IAA is the national association representing Academy Principals and Chairs of Governors. It is an autonomous body. Membership is open to all state-funded independent schools.

IAA seeks to encourage all Academies (both established and "yet to open") to become involved in the association. This aim has the support of  the Department for Education as it reflects the aspiration that Academies will not only transform the work of their own school but also add value to the school system in England by working together as a movement.

 Naace is the professional association for those concerned with advancing education through the appropriate use of information and communications technology (ICT). The association was established in 1984 and has become the key influential professional association for those working in ICT in Education.

 Through the power of technology and high tech entertainments, Lifelites is the only charity striving to give children in hospices the chance to spend quality time with their families, the means to keep in contact with their school and friends, and simply to enjoy themselves away from the constant reality of their illness.

 The internet's great isn't it? It lets us buy stuff, stay in touch with friends, get info and access a world of entertainment. Could you imagine your life without it?

10 million people in the UK can. That's the number of people who have never been online. Worryingly, four million of these people are also amongst the country's most socially excluded. So the people who have the most to gain from the internet - whether to overcome isolation or to save money - are the ones who are missing out.

We are working to change that. Led by Martha Lane Fox, we're a small team with a big vision - we want to get the UK as close as possible to 100% online by the London Olympics. That's what the Race Online 2012 initiative is about.

 The Digital Participation Consortium is a UK-wide coalition of Government, industry and third sector organisations drawn from across the foundation areas of Digital Inclusion, Digital Life Skills and Digital Media Literacy. They are committed to increasing Digital Participation and achieving greater impact through better coordination and encouraging collaboration between members.

In particular Consortium members will work to:

  • provide people with information, inspiration and support to get online;
  • share knowledge, good practice, ideas and opportunities with other members;
  • aggregate and align marketing resources, assets and activities where appropriate; and
  • reduce duplication and fragmentation of effort.

The shared vision for Digital Participation is for everyone who wants to be online to get online, do more online and benefit from the advantages of being online.

This vision recognises that people need the motivation and opportunity to get online, as well as the support to develop the skills and confidence to participate fully online – including the ability to communicate, manage potential risks, critically evaluate content and services, and create and share content. This support may initially take the form of an intermediary, such as a school, public library or UK online centre, or community volunteer.

This vision is also platform-neutral and ‘getting online’ refers to the most affordable and effective means for the individual to become an active user of the internet.
