This spring will see a lot of changes. The Government's Home Access programme will, almost certainly, be concluded. The election will see which ever party is successful having to tackle the financial issues of the country, which will inevitably impact on education. This is set against the background of the latest 'Family Spending Survey(2007' shows that there is little or no sign of the 'digital divide' shrinking. All this is set against a constant drive to use more and more technology as an integral part of the education process.
Teachers, pupils and parents need to embrace the use of the computer as a standard and essential part of a pupils kit in the same way that they have the calculator. The opportunities that the technology offers as alternative ways of helping and inspiring children to learn as well as the greater flexibility in the teaching process, course work management and parental engagement are appealing but there are many issues that a school has to consider and overcome before they can start to reap the benefits.
This conference is specifically designed to help those schools that are starting out on the journey and are looking for help and guidance on the key issues such as:
