Story competition

“Me and my computer”

The Story Competition has now closed and our judging panel has completed their task considering all of the entries we have received. The response has been tremendous and this made the selection process much more difficult than we had anticipated. Entries arrived in all manor of formats, ranging from scans of the goold traditional pen and paper through to videos and Glogs which made the task even more challenging, as well as very rewarding.

The judging panel consisted of our Chief Executive, Valerie Thompson along with a representative from each of our sponsor companies; Ken Daniels from Toshiba and Jason Orchard from Comet.  Because of the number of entries the judges firstly chose a short list for each category. They then identified the winners and a number of entries that they felt deserved recognition as ‘Highly Commended’.

The purpose of the competition was to encourage pupils to tell us what having access to a computer has meant to them personally. Using their own words we want them to express how having use of a computer at home and school to help them with their education has made a difference and there is no doubt that pupils all over the country  love their computers!

Because of the overwhelming number of entries we have delayed the announcement of the winners until May 26th and we hope to be able to present the prizes before 1/2 term.
