Some of our success stories around the country:

North West - Lysander Community High School in Warrington
Have successfuly achieved whole school provision of 1-2-1 technology through the use of netbooks.  Following a pilot year which saw staff and pupils experience a learning curve together the technology is now firmly embedded in the school ethos.  Set in a deprived area of Warrington, this school has seen a number of feeder primary schools start the mobile technology initiative and wanted to ensure that it could continue to harness and improve the skill level of its pupils.  The DMS (e-LF donation collection service) has provided the necessary recording facilities for minimal staff interventions.

North East - Normanby Primary School in Market Rasen
Award winning head teacher and school, Carl Faulkner has taken Normanby Primary School to another level.  The introduction of Smartphone technology used specifically to focus on History and Geography projects and provide internet connections to his Key stage 2 children both in school and at home, has been a great success.  The school manages its donations through the e-LF DMS service.

Yorkshire & Humber - Archbishop Sentamu Academy in Hull
Set in the heartlands of Hull, close to the docks so internet provision can be difficult to achieve at times (depending on the number of ships in dock).  The school has strived very quickly to achieve 1-2-1 technology provision and have taken a whole school approach over the last 12 months.  They have consistently rolled out to each year group every few months.  Using the e-LF DMS service has meant that with such a large scale project they have been able to track and record all donations made.  The school have used a leasing model to ensure that affordable netbooks can be at the centre of the schools technology provision.

Wales - Holywell High School in Flintshire
The first school in Wales to launch an e-learning programme with a grant from the e-Learning Foundation. The school serves the town of Holywell, neighbouring villages and rural communities in the Northern part of Flintshire where there is relatively high unemployment. The programme is providing children with the IT skills they will require for their future vocations.

Midlands - St Edmund’s Catholic School in Wolverhampton

Drawing pupils from across the city. With help from the e-Learning Foundation the school was able to implement a three year strategic plan to embed e-learning through its use of mobile devices for all students and teachers to access its VLE encouraging good teaching and learning across all areas of the school curriculum. Home access now ensures that all pupils have 24/7 access to learning resources for their work.

East Midlands - Djanogly City Academy in Nottingham
Innovative approach to technology saw it walk away with the Becta ICT Excellence Award 2008 for best whole school, national winner in the Secondary category. The school kick-started its e-learning programme with a grant from the e-Learning Foundation to enable their students to have access to a device and connectivity through dongles as well as a cable broardband offer from Virgin Media.  The school’s VLE is now a leading case study school for other educational institutions, prior to all schools having to make this facility available by 2010.

London - Sion-Manning
A Roman Catholic voluntary aided school for girls serves socially and economically deprived areas of London. The school is now in the third year of a sustainable programme, following a grant from the e-Learning Foundation. The programme has enabled the school to forge much stronger links between family and school.

South West - Bishop Bronescombe CE VA Primary in St Austell
Pupils come from local housing estates on the eastern side of the town of St Austell. The school is in an area recognised as being economically disadvantaged. The school’s e-learning scheme underlines the importance of home access for a child’s studies. The school has found that children are far more focused on their studies since the scheme started and a recent Ofsted report deemed the school as ‘outstanding in the use of ICT across the curriculum’.
